Kurt Dabb a US combat Army veteran, a career cop & homicide detective. Kurt goes through several of his darkest moments as a police officer and his struggles to become well. By the power of his will and the love of his Family Kurt was able to give those that love him the give of his sobriety.

Years ago my daily diet consisted of a jug of wine , many beers , a fifth of whiskey , meth to get up , Xanax and pain killers to come down and it’s put me in jail and prison for the better part of the last decade. My rock bottom came on my 2nd trip to the State Penitentiary , sitting on my steel rack in an 8 x 12 prison cell and knowing that I’m not going home for years. I asked God to help me beat my addictions and my demons and 4 years later , I’m still clean and sober and have recovered from a hopeless state of body and mind , one day at a time . This is my story and although I’m not proud of it , I’m not ashamed of it either as my past does not define who I am as a man today . Drugs and alcohol robbed me of so much , my baseball career , my professional career , my family , friends and health , I was suicidal and at the brink of squeezing the trigger but my recovery has brought me more in life than anything I could ever have possibly dreamt of ~ Recovery is possible and I pray that anyone struggling with alcoholism and addiction can get the help they need and know that they are not alone
